Have you heard it said, we’re all dead
Death conceived at life, born and bred.

How can one escape the fate we dread?
Death came to all men because all sinned.
But hope is not dead, you can live instead.

Been dead before, not again
Buried in Jesus’ death, raised up with Him
Now cleansed from my sin, I will not die but live.

Where O death, O death, is your sting?
Where O death, your victory, your win?
O death your plagues, The power of the grave?

I am the resurrection and the life, Jesus said.
He who believes in me will not die but live.

He who eats His bread forever lives.
Drinks the water of life the Savior gives.

He who believes has crossed from death to live.
Been dead before, not again
Buried in Jesus’ death, raised up with Him
Now cleansed from my sin I will not die but live.

We are still celebrating Easter and part of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead is the guarantee that our sins were buried with Him and we too will rise to live. But Jesus’ resurrection also raises us up to live our faith while still on this earth, with comfort, joy, hope and strength to face each and every day knowing that we were dead before in our sins, but not anymore. Now cleansed from my sin through faith in Christ Jesus, I will not die but live. Celebrate Easter every day.

PS I have a project for you. Search the Scriptures and try to find at least one Biblical reference to each one of the stanzas in the song.
