A people that in darkness sat, they sat, they cried
Darkness consumes and sin corrupts, they sat, they died
Oh, the sorrow, with all sin’s shame
Without the Lord, without the Light, just death remains Isaiah 9:1-5
On those living in the dark, has dawned the Light
The Prince of Peace, Immanuel, is born this night
Oh, the wonder, with salvation’s name
The angels sang of God’s good news, the night Jesus came
O, Holy Night, the strength for our days
O, Holy Night, the Light of God’s way Isaiah 9:6,7
Even though the King of kings, a trough his bed,
No crown of gold, no finer things, a crown of thorns instead
The Man of Sorrows, with joy in his pain
The nails, the spear, the cross, his death is why, Jesus came
On that glorious night, the strength for our days
O, Holy Night, the Light of God’s way Isaiah 53:3-6
Rejoice, rejoice for now his Light, it shines for you John 8:12
He is the Word of God made flesh, full of grace and truth John 1:14
Away with sorrows, he bore sin’s shame
So that you would believe and live is why Jesus came John 20:31
On that glorious night, the strength for our days
O, Holy Night, the Light of God’s way
