Bethlehem
So long ago
The prophets said, they foretold
How in Bethlehem, though small in size,
Out of you the king shall rise-In Bethlehem

At Bethlehem
The shepherds watched
Out in the fields over their flocks
And the angel said, do not fear,
God has sent salvation here-In Bethlehem

To Bethlehem
The shepherds went
To see just what the angel meant
They found him there, the little child
With his mother so meek and mild-In Bethlehem

In Bethlehem
They went forth
To spread the news of the Savior’s birth
To tell the people what the angel said,
How they found him in his manger bed-In Bethlehem

Glory to God in the Highest
And peace to all earth
Glory to God in the highest
And peace to all, through the Savior’s birth-In Bethlehem

To Bethlehem
The wise men sped
To place a crown upon his head
To bring him gifts of gold and myrrh
To honor him as God deserved-In Bethlehem

To Bethlehem
I must go
To see the one who saved my soul
Who lived and died for my sins
To keep me ever safe with him-Bethlehem

We journey back to Bethlehem in God’s Word to see the greatest gift we have been given, a Savior, Jesus Christ. We journey back each year with such great anticipation because we know that the one born in Bethlehem is God over all, who came to live and die for me and my sins. Come worship the Christ-child and rejoice in your salvation.

Merry Christmas!
